How to get involved advocating for your profession

Becoming a member of OAMRS is the single most important way for you to ensure that your voice is heard by our stakeholders and government. OAMRS is the only voice advocating for Ontario’s 11,000 medical imaging professionals.

Below are ways that you can be sure that your message is heard by our provincial government:

OPTION 1
Become a member of OAMRS

OPTION 2
Share your thoughts and opinions when OAMRS issues research papers specific to the profession. The results often form the majority of our positions and presentations to government.

OPTION 3
Meet with your local MPP and share your thoughts and concerns regarding your profession. Use our toolkit to help organize your meeting.

OPTION 4
Join OAMRS on Queen’s Park Lobby Days when we meet with elected officials and share our priorities for improving our profession and Ontario healthcare

OPTION 5
Sign petitions that we develop – these are used to demonstrate to government how important an issue is to our members.

Get engaged with OAMRS in social media. Share our updates or provide your own comments.

OPTION 7
Get more involved with OAMRS and become a volunteer by participating on Committees or our Board of Directors. Interested members can review the Nomination Package here.

OPTION 8
Enrol in the Medical Radiation Sciences Advocacy Program and take an active role in directing government advocacy within the OAMRS. (Must be an active OAMRS member.)
