Radiation Therapist, Radiation Oncology

BC Cancer is seeking Radiation Therapists to join our Radiation Oncology teams across British Columbia. This is an opportunity to provide meaningful, patient-centred cancer care while working as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

In this role, you will provide radiation therapy services through treatment planning, delivery, follow-up, patient assessment, and patient and family education. You will support safe, high-quality care while maintaining accurate treatment records and quality assurance standards.

• Degree in Radiation Therapy or recognized certificate 
• CAMRT certification
• Recent completion of a Radiation Therapy training program within the past five years, or active employment as a Radiation Therapist

Job Summary:
As a member of the Multidisciplinary Health Care team, co-ordinates, performs and evaluates Diagnostic Services examination within the specific modalities and disciplines.

Qualifications:
• Graduate of a recognized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) training program is an asset.
• Must have a willingness to attend required training to become a licensed Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist.
• Must currently be registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) as any diagnostic imaging designation.
• Certified by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
• Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Certification in Contrast Injection or willingness to obtain training is preferred.
• Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) Certification or willingness to obtain training is preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in an MRI setting is preferred 
• Participates in training, workshops, and continuous education to remain current in MRI practice and cultural competence. 
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
• Effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to work within limited direct supervision as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.  

Job Duties:
• Performs diagnostic MRI scans according to established protocols, adapting for patient condition or clinical judgment to ensure high-quality imaging and diagnostic accuracy.
• Works collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and other technologists to support timely and accurate      diagnoses while also supporting patient care.
• Demonstrates cultural humility and awareness when engaging with patients from diverse backgrounds, particularly Indigenous and surrounding First Nations communities in Northwestern Ontario.
• Performs routine quality assurance and equipment safety checks to ensure compliance with equipment standards and regulatory expectations. 

Salary: $40.49 – 55.88, benefits according to CUPE collective agreement.
